Application Advantage
For AES encryption/decryption algorithm, the advantage of this algorithm on the FPGA is that it uses integer arithmetic with coarse grain bit operations and requires complex decision making. Comparing with running this on a single core Xeon Processor CPU, we were orders of magnitude faster with significantly less power.
